Abstract

The Turkish National Fixed GNSS Network – Active (TUSAGA-Active) system has a total of 168 fixed stations throughout Turkey and the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus (TRNC), and 2 control centers, namely the General Directorate of Land Registry and Cadastre (TKGM) and the General Directorate of Maps (HGM). With this system, the geographical locations can be determined, and current maps can be produced by making measurements with centimeter (cm) sensitivity, actively 24 hours a day. In the studies on this topic, the actual height of the earth (orthometric height) must be found, and this is very difficult with classical methods. For that reason, in this study, the orthometric height was found by subtracting the ellipsoidal height from the TUSAGA-Active points from the corrugation values with the determined accuracy. The study was conducted on a planned coastal recreation area in the City of Van, Turkey. Ellipsoidal height data was found by measuring the Global Positioning System (GPS) instantly from C3 points used by the XVth Land Registry and Cadastre Regional Directorate in Van Province. Using these data from the HGM corrugation map, the average corrugation coefficient of the region was found to be 23.70 cm. With this coefficient, the orthometric heights of the C3 points subtracted from the ellipsoidal height were found. A ground surface map was created with the calculated points. Using the measured points, the geoid model of the region was obtained in the MATLAB software program. The results of the study were also evaluated by extracting the topography of the area with the drone flights. The study revealed that the mapping of the topography by using TUSAGA-Active system points will make an important contribution to landscape design, especially in the planning of recreation and coastal areas.
