Abstract

To evaluate central corneal thickness (CCT) after corneal collagen cross-linking (CXL) with riboflavin using ultraviolet-A light for keratoconus. Materials and Methods: Thirty seven eyes of 37 patients with progressive keratoconus were included in this retrospective study. During the follow up period CCT were recorded at the first, third and sixth months. Results: The mean preoperative CCT was 468.43zk32.76 um (412-524) (n=37); Postoperative 1. month 461.47:h34.37 um (410-520) (n=35); 3.month 468.16:k33.95 um (413-530) (n=30); 6. month 464.53:t37.91 um (420- 516) (n=23). There was no statistically significant change in CCT (p>0.05). Conclusion: After CXL the cornea thins and then recovers toward baseline thickness. But thinning in CCT was not statistically significant.

Özet

Keratokonusta ultraviole-A ve riboflavin kullanarak yapılan korneal kollajen çapraz bağlama (KKÇB) sonrası merkezi kornea kalınlığının (MKK) değerlendirilmesi. Materyal ve Metod: Bu retrospektif çalışmada ilerleyici keratokonuslu 37 hastanın 37 gözü değerlendirildi. Hastaların ameliyat öncesi ve sonrası 1., 3., 6. aylardaki takiplerde elde edilen MKK değerleri kaydedildi. Bulgular: Hastaların ortalama MKK ameliyat öncesi 468,43:l:32,76 um (412-524) (n=37); ameliyat sonrası 1. ay 461,47:|:34,37 um (410-520) (n=35); 3. ay 468,16:|:33,95 um (413-530) (n=30); 6. ay 464,53:I:37,91 um (420-516) (n=23) idi.
