Abstract

Aim: To compare the values of anterior chamber angle evaluated with fourier domain anterior segment optical coharence tomography (FD-ASOCT) after deep anterior lamellar keratoplasty (DALK) and penetrating keratoplasty (PK) in patients with keratoconus. Material and Method: The study includes 58 eyes of 47 patients who underwent DALK (14 patients) or PK (21 patients) and unoperated keratoconus (23 patients) subjects as control group. Skleral spur (SS) was defined manually and angle opening distance at 500 μm (AOD500) and trabeculo-iris space area at 500 μm (TISA500) were measured in all patients on same day by using FD-ASOCT. The results were compared within groups who underwent DALK, PK and control group (unoperated keratoconus patients). Results: The mean age was not significantly different between groups (p>0.05). The mean TİSA500 value in DALK group was 0.21±0.18 mm²; in PK group was 0.18±0.09 mm² and in keratoconus group was 0.18±0.05 mm². The TISA500 results were not significantly different between groups (p>0.05). The mean AOD500 value in DALK group was 569.43±312.11 μm; in PK group was 616.36±306.25 μm and in keratokonus group was 574.64±160.75 μm. The AOD500 results were not significantly different between groups (p>0.05).
