Çalflma, günümüz mimari atmosferinde sklkla telaffuz edilen kullanc katlmna iliflkin bir arafltrma olarak ele alnmfltr. Kullanmak ve katlmak gibi birbirinden farkl iki eylemin birarada tasavvur edilmesinin nasl bir mimari üre- time karfllk gelece¤i sorusu, çalflmann çkfl noktasdr. Bu ba¤lamda, mimarlk tarihi ve sosyal disiplinler alanlarnda kul- lancnn tanmna iliflkin krlmalarla bir- likte, kullancnn günümüz mimarlk üreti- minde nasl bir iliflkiler a¤ içinde yer ald¤n kavramak çalflmann esasn oluflturur. Mekânn bir iliflkiler a¤ ile örülü olmas, zaman içerisinde mekânn kuruluflunun, baflndan sonuna tek elden çkan üretimden, gittikçe daha da karmaflklaflan bir üretim sürecine dönüflmesi, günümüzde özellikle kullanc-ürün arayüzü ba¤lamnda yeni tartflmalarn zorunlu hale geldi¤i açk uçlu bir sistemi gündeme taflr. Bu yaklaflm, gerek tarihsel krlmalarn anlafllmas gerekse de kuramsal tartflmalarn mimari üretime yansmalar ekseninde ele alnmfltr.
