Abstract

This study aimed to develop a reliable and valid scale for measuring the professional competencies of imams serving in mosques. As a result of the research, a scale consisting of 14 items and 3 factors was developed, which enables the assessment of imams’ multidimensional competencies in professional knowledge, teaching and guidance skills, as well as general culture. The scale was developed in Kyrgyz, and its clarity and appropriateness were reviewed by field experts. Exploratory Factor Analysis (EFA) confirmed the three-factor structure of the scale, while Confirmatory Factor Analysis (CFA) supported its structural validity. The reliability of the scale was ensured through Cronbach’s alpha coefficient and item–total correlations. The findings indicated that the scale is a reliable and valid tool for measuring the professional competencies of imams. The limited number of scales in the literature that directly assess the professional competencies of imams makes this study original and significant. The developed scale can serve as a valuable tool both in academic research and in professional development programs and training activities for imams.
