Abstract

This study examines how the idea of artificial intelligence is represented as a cybernetic allegory in the series Pluribus. The series provides a critical framework for contemporary discussions on artificial intelligence through the dissolution of individual consciousness within a collective mind structure, the transformation of information flow into a central regulating principle, and the redefinition of the human subject within a systemic totality. The main aim of the study is to evaluate the collective mind structure constructed in Pluribus not merely as a fantastic element of science fiction narrative, but as a cybernetic model operating through the principles of feedback, control, information circulation, and system regulation. Accordingly, the study is based on theoretical thematic narrative analysis within the framework of an interpretive qualitative research approach. The plot structure, character positions, scene representations, and narrative turning points of the series are analyzed through the perspectives of cybernetic theory and posthumanist thought. The analysis particularly focuses on the themes of collective consciousness, the body-mind relationship, the dissolution of individuality, systemic adaptation, and cognitive singularity. The study argues that Pluribus constructs artificial intelligence not merely as a technological threat or tool, but as a conceptual narrative field that reopens the discussion of consciousness, embodiment, freedom, and subjectivity. In this context, the series is evaluated as a cybernetic allegory that makes visible the boundaries of posthuman existence in the age of artificial intelligence.
