Abstract

With the introduction of 360° cameras into the field of cinema, a change in narrative strategies in filmmaking has begun to be observed. The deconstruction and de-structuring of the narrative structure has led to the emergence of a different narrative language with the image dimension of the camera that can now see from a 360° point of view, replacing the camera language that sees from a 180° point of view. VR technology used in the field of cinema reveals the necessity of developing VR film narratives and updating the cinematographic structure within the context of this technology. For the viewer, who experiences the image projected onto the two-dimensional cinema screen within a collective viewing experience, 360° image that envelops the viewer is now included in film narratives. The change in the point-of-view technique in 360° cameras in the context of the viewer brings about a change in the film grammar in VR film narratives. The viewer's relationship with the film is changing based on the point-of-view (POV) concept. This study, by detailing the concepts related to the subject under investigation, opens up an examination of the sense of embodiment created by VR technology, which has infiltrated the field of cinema through the film-philosophical method and discusses the possibility of the viewer’s perception being drawn towards escapism as the perception of reality transforms and moves towards hyperreality.

Özet

360° kameraların sinema alanına girmesiyle birlikte sinemada anlatı stratejilerinin değişimi görülmeye başlanmıştır. Anlatı yapısının dekonstrükte edilerek yapıbozuma uğratılması 180° bakış açısıyla gören kamera dilinin artık 360° bakış açısıyla görebilen kameranın görüntü boyutuyla başka bir anlatım dilinin ortaya çıkmasını sağlamıştır. Sinemada alanında kullanılan VR teknolojisi, VR film anlatılarının geliştirilmesi ve sinematografik yapının tekrar bu teknoloji bağlamında güncellenmesi gerekliliğini ortaya koymaktadır. İki boyutlu sinema perdesine yansıyan görüntüyü kolektif bir seyir deneyimi içinde gerçekleştiren izleyici için artık 360°‘lik görüntünün izleyiciyi sarmaladığı bir deneyim artık film anlatıları içinde yer almaktadır. Bakış açısı tekniğini 360° kameralarda izleyici bağlamında değişimi VR film anlatılarındaki film gramerinin de değişimini gündeme getirmektedir. Bakış açısı (POV) kavramı temelinde izleyicinin filmle ilişkisi değişmektedir. Bu çalışma, sorgulanan konuyla ilgili kavramları detaylandırarak filmozofik yöntemle sinema alanına sızan VR teknolojisinin izleyici üzerinde yarattığı bedenleşme hissini sorgulamaya açmakta ve gerçeklik algısının dönüşümüyle hipergerçekliğe giden izleyici algısının kaçışa sürüklenme ihtimalini tartışmaktadır.
