In today's rapidly changing lifestyles, technological advancements, and transformations in building production techniques, significant changes have occurred in the functional and formal characteristics of traditional building elements. In this context, doors, which are not only functional components but also symbolic architectural elements of a building, are worth examining not just as transition elements but also in terms of their aesthetic harmony with the architecture, their location within the layout, and their relationship with the socio-cultural context. This study aims to analyze the doors of various building types currently found in the Kurtuluş Neighborhood of Karakeçili District in Kırıkkale Province in terms of their functional, structural, and aesthetic features, and to derive conclusions that shed light on the traditional architectural characteristics of the region.Through field research and site visits, visual data such as photographs and drawings of the existing doors were collected. The types of materials used in the production of the doors, the manufacturing techniques applied, and the installation processes were examined in detail. It was determined that while some doors are still being produced using traditional methods, others have been restored and reinterpreted in accordance with modern construction techniques. This illustrates how traditional and modern production methods have intertwined and adapted to one another, revealing the transformation of the local architectural culture over time.Based on the findings, it has been emphasized that the door types observed in the Kurtuluş Neighborhood hold great importance for preserving and transmitting the local building culture to future generations. This study, by documenting traditional doors, aims to contribute to the continuity of cultural heritage and to the preservation of local architectural practices. It is anticipated that the study will serve as a reference for future research in the fields of architectural history and cultural heritage conservation.

Günümüzde hızla değişen yaşam tarzları, teknolojik gelişmeler ve yapı üretim tekniklerindeki dönüşümler, geleneksel yapı elemanlarının işlevsel ve biçimsel özelliklerinde önemli değişiklikler meydana getirmiştir. Bu doğrultuda, yapının işlevselliğinin yanı sıra simgesel bir parçası da olan kapılar, sadece geçiş elemanları olarak değil; aynı zamanda yapının mimarisiyle kurduğu estetiksel uyum, yerleşim planındaki konumu ve bağlı olduğu sosyo-kültürel çevreyle olan ilişkisi bakımından da araştırılmaya ve incelenmeye değer mimari unsurlardır. Bu çalışmada, Kırıkkale ili Karakeçili ilçesi Kurtuluş Mahallesi’nde mevcut halde bulunan farklı yapı türlerine ait kapılar, işlevsel, yapısal ve estetik özellikleri bakımından detaylı olarak incelenmiş; böylece bölgenin geleneksel mimari karakteristiğine yol gösterecek neticeler elde edilmesi amaçlanmıştır. Saha araştırmaları doğrultusunda gerçekleştirilen alan gezisinin sonucunda elde edilen fotoğraf çekimleri, görsel dökümanlar ve mevcut kapıların çizim analizleri incelenip, kapıların imalatında tercih edilen malzeme türleri, mevcut halde uygulanan üretim teknikleri ve montaj süreçleri detaylı biçimde belgelenmiştir. Çalışma sürecinde, bazı kapıların geleneksel yöntemlerle üretilmeye devam ettiği, bazılarının ise zaman içerisinde modern yapı tekniklerine uygun şekilde yeniden değerlendirilip restore edildiği tespit edilmiştir. Bu sayede geleneksel ve modern üretim tekniklerinin iç içe geçerek birbirine adapte olduğu örnekler, yerel mimari kültürünün zaman içerisinde dönüştüğünü açık bir şekilde ortaya koymuştur. Elde edilen neticeler doğrultusunda, Kurtuluş Mahallesi’nde gözlemlenen kapı türlerinin, yerel yapı kültürünün korunabilmesi ve geleceğe aktarılabilmesi açısından büyük bir öneme sahip olduğu vurgulanmıştır. Sonuç olarak, bu çalışma ile geleneksel kapılar belgelenerek, kültürel mirasın devamlılığı ve yerel mimarlık uygulamalarının korunması açısından öneriler geliştirilmesi hedeflenmiştir. Çalışmanın, mimarlık tarihi ve çalışma alanında yapılacak gelecekteki araştırmalara katkı sunması öngörülmektedir.
