Abstract
For developing countries aiming for rapid development today, enhancing international competitiveness through the export of high-tech products is of great importance. As a developing country, Turkey has also been striving to increase its exports of high-tech products in recent years in line with this objective. This study aims to empirically determine Turkey's competitiveness and product mapping in high-tech products for the period 2003-2023. In this context, the Revealed Comparative Advantage (RCA) Index, the Revealed Symmetric Comparative Advantage Index, the Trade Balance Index, and Widodo’s Product Mapping method are used in high-tech sectors. As a result of the RCA calculations, it is determined that Turkey has a competitive advantage in only three of the 18 high-tech product groups. According to the product mapping results, Turkey is a net exporter with a competitive advantage in only one sub-sector of high-tech products. In order for Turkey to enhance its competitiveness in international markets, it must prioritize specialization in high-tech products and implement policies aimed at increasing exports of these products.
