Values are the set of beliefs that have the task of guiding individuals in their lives by enabling them to understand right and wrong. It is important for individuals to get acquainted with values in childhood in order to complete their development processes correctly from childhood to adulthood. For this reason, it can be said that the education of values should be started at a young age and that children's literature is a good tool that can be used in the transfer of values. In addition, good and correct examples are needed for the realization of values education. Since the books written for children in world literature, which are on the shelves of bookstores in our country, are primarily written to instill the thoughts, beliefs and lifestyles of the society to which they belong, it is important that the messages in these books overlap with our own culture. For this reason, the aim of this research is to determine the compatibility of the values included in Astrid Lindgren's children's novels with the root values determined as “justice, friendship, honesty, self-control, patience, respect, love, responsibility, patriotism, helpfulness” in the curriculum of the Ministry of National Education. is to reveal. In the research, the document analysis method, one of the qualitative research methods, was used. The values in Astrid Lindgren's 13 children's novels with Turkish editions were examined, conclusions were reached and suggestions were made in line with the findings obtained as a result of the examination. As a result of the research, it was observed that the author included messages suitable for the root values announced by the Ministry of National Education in her children's novels, but the number of these messages was low in terms of quantity. It has been determined that she gives place to the values of self-control and patriotism in her novels.

Değerler bireylerin doğru ile yanlışı anlamalarını sağlayarak yaşamlarında onlara rehberlik etme görevi taşıyan inançlar bütünüdür. Bireylerin çocukluktan yetişkinliğe geçen sürede gelişim süreçlerini doğru bir şekilde tamamlamaları için çocukluk döneminde değerler ile tanışmaları önemlidir. Bu nedenle değerlerin eğitimine küçük yaşlarda başlanılması gerektiği ve çocuk edebiyatının değerlerin aktarımında kullanılabilecek iyi bir araç olduğu söylenebilir. Bunun yanı sıra değerler eğitminin gerçekleşmesi için iyi ve doğru örneklere ihtiyaç vardır. Ülkemizde kitapçıların raflarında yer alan, dünya edebiyatında çocuklar için kaleme alınan kitaplar, öncelikle ait olduğu toplumun düşüncelerini, inançlarını, yaşam tarzlarını kendilerinden sonra gelen nesillere aşılamak amacıyla yazıldıklarından dolayı bu kitaplarda yer alan iletilerin kendi kültürümüz ile örtüşmesi önem taşımaktadır. Bu nedenle bu araştırmanın amacı, Astrid Lindgren’in çocuk romanlarında yer verdiği değerlerin Milli Eğitim Bakanlığı’nın öğretim programlarında “adalet, dostluk, dürüstlük, öz denetim, sabır, saygı, sevgi, sorumluluk, vatanseverlik, yardımseverlik” olarak belirlenen kök değerler ile uygunluğunu ortaya koymaktır. Araştırmada nitel araştırma yöntemlerinden doküman analizi yöntemi kullanılmıştır. Astrid Lindgren’in Türkçe baskısı bulunan 13 çocuk romanında yer alan değerler incelenmiş, inceleme sonucunda elde edilen bulgular doğrultusunda sonuçlara ulaşılmış ve önerilerde bulunulmuştur. Araştırma sonucunda yazarın çocuk romanlarında, MEB’in açıkladığı kök değerlere uygun iletilere yer verdiği ancak bu iletilerin nicelik bakımından sayısının az olduğu gözlemlenmiş, belirlenen kök değerler arasından adalet, dostluk, dürüstlük, öz denetim, sabır, saygı, sevgi, sorumluluk ve yardımseverlik değerlerine çocuk romanlarında yer verdiği ancak öz denetim ve vatanseverlik değerlerine hiç yer vermediği tespit edilmiştir.
