Abstract

Super applications are platforms where more than one service can be offered to customers under one roof. The super app name doesn't come from the quality or dominance of the platforms in question. On the contrary, what is super here is that more than one service can be provided under one roof, and the variety of services. Today, there are examples where many services such as social media, messaging, taxi calling, shopping, payment systems, activities for crypto assets, e-commerce, delivery, and car sharing can be provided within super applications. In fact, there is no restriction in terms of the services that can be provided within super applications. Which services will be provided by super applications are matters that only super application operators can determine. Super applications can be subject to legal regulations in many different areas with the services they contain. For example, a super application that establishes payment systems and provides services in this field is directly faced with the obligation to be subject to the rules of banking law. Similarly, super applications have the potential to violate many of the competition law prohibitions. There is no widespread case law pool on super applications. In fact, legal regulations have not been made, especially in the European region. For this reason, in the study, the legal situations that super applications may be involved in at many points are hypothetically discussed and solutions are tried to be proposed. Especially in terms of Turkish Law, this study is a first for super applications.
