Şakir Balkı’ya ait olan Büyük Usturalar romanı, yazıldığı dönemin siyasi yaşamına kimi eleştiriler getirmekte ve bu durumları bir güldürü ögesi olarak sunmaktadır. Eserin ilk ve tek baskısı 1978 yılında Tekin Yayınevi’nde yapılmıştır. Bu çalışmada Bergson’un Gülmesi ışığında romandaki güldürü unsurları tespit edilmeye çalışılacaktır. Bergson’un gülme ve gülünçülük hakkındaki değerlendirmelerinin bir mizahi roman üzerinde sınanması ile birlikte bir mizahi romanın Bergson’un değerlendirmeleri ışığında sınanmasına çalışılacaktır.
