For this reason, 15 July Martyrs Park, which is one of the parks with the largest area of the city of Van, its view to the lake and a central location, was chosen as the study area. Within the scope of the study, it was aimed to determine the positive and negative aspects of the urban furniture elements of the 15 July Martyrs Park in Van, in terms of landscape design criteria, and to offer solutions according to the problems. measurements were made. In the second stage, the study area was examined with the land observation chart prepared within the scope of the landscape architecture criteria (aesthetics, functionality, material structure used, urban identity and harmony with its environment). Then, in line with the results obtained from the study, the extent to which the urban furniture elements comply with the landscape architecture criteria was interpreted and suggestions were made for the parks to be built in the cities in line with the evaluations. Kentsel yeşil alanlar, refahın önemli bir unsuru olarak kente estetik bir görünüm kazandıran, betonlaşmış kent dokusunu yumuşatan, kent havasını temizleyen ve bireylerin serbest zamanlarını değerlendirebilecekleri alanlardır. Bu nedenle çalışma alanını Van kentinin en geniş alanına, göle olan manzara konumuna ve merkezi bir konuma sahip olan parklarından birisi olan 15 Temmuz Şehitler Parkı çalışma alanı olarak seçilmiştir. Çalışma kapsamında, Van ilinde yer alan 15 Temmuz Şehitler Parkının donatı elemanları peyzaj tasarım kriterleri açısından incelenerek olumlu ve olumsuz yönlerini belirleyip çıkan sorunlara göre çözüm önerileri sunmak amaçlanmıştır. Bu bağlamda ilk aşamada çalışma alanı gezilerek yerinde gözlemler yapılmış, donatı elemanlarının fotoğrafları çekilerek standartlara uygun olup olmadığının ortaya konabilmesi amacıyla ölçümleri yapılmıştır. İkinci aşamada belirlenen peyzaj mimarlığı kriterleri (estetiklik, işlevsellik, kullanılan malzeme yapısı, kent kimliği ve çevresi ile olan uyum) kapsamında hazırlanan arazi gözlem çizelgesi ile çalışma alanı incelenmiştir. Daha sonra çalışmadan elde edilen sonuçlar doğrultusunda donatı elemanlarının peyzaj mimarlığı kriterlerine ne derece uygun olduğu yorumlanmış ve değerlendirmeler doğrultusunda kentlerde yapılacak olan parklar için öneriler getirilmiştir. Bu önerilerin benzerlik taşıyan diğer parklar için de örnek teşkil edebileceği düşünülmüştür.
