Abstract
Aim: The aim of this study is to examine the level of knowledge of individuals who donated blood about stem cell donation. Material and methods: In this descriptive study, information on the stem cell donation of the volunteers of the individuals who donated blood was evaluated with a data collection form consisting of 34 questions. Examples of the study are 260 volunteers who donated blood in the last three months.Results: Among the participants, 70.8% of the individual is male, 47.3% is 18-25 years old. 63.1% of individuals want to be donors, 81.5% do not know how to donate, 88.5% have the right to learn about the stem cell from healthcare workers, 63.1% have the right to learn the donor and45% of them stated that they can donate again after initial attempt. Conclusion: In this study, it was determined that the participants' knowledge about stem cell donation was not sufficient.

Amaç: Bu çalışma, kan bağışında bulunan bireylerin kök hücre bağışı hakkında bilgi düzeylerini incelemek amacıyla yapıldı.Gereç ve yöntem: Tanımlayıcı tipte olan bu araştırmada kan bağışında bulunan bireylerin kök hücre bağışı konusundaki bilgileri ve sosyodemografik özellikleri 34 sorudan oluşan veri toplama formu ile değerlendirildi. Çalışmanın örneklerini son üç ay içerisinde gönüllü olarak kan bağışında bulunan 260 gönüllü oluşturdu.Bulgular: Katılımcıların %70.8’i erkek, %47.3’ü 18-25 yaşındadır. Bireylerin %63.1’nin kök hücre bağışçısı olmak istediği, %81.5’inin nasıl bağışçı olacağını bilmediği, %88.5’inin kök hücre konusunda sağlık çalışanlarından bilgi almak istediği, %63.1’i bağış yaptığı kişiyi öğrenme hakkının olduğunu ve %45’i bir kere kök hücre bağışı yaptıktan sonra tekrar bağış yapabileceğini belirtti. Sonuç: Bu çalışmada katılımcıların kök hücre bağışı konusunda bilgilerinin yeterli olmadığı saptandı.
