Abstract

This case report aimed to provide nursing care to a patient who underwent pericardiocentesis using the Lydia Hall model and to demonstrate the applicability of the model in clinical practice.A case-report design was used. Nursing care was planned and implemented based on the Lydia Hall model, incorporating CORE, CARE, and CURE components. Individualized and holistic care was provided across the stages of assessment, diagnosis, planning, implementation, and evaluation. A concept map was used during the assessment phase. Nursing care guided by the Lydia Hall model facilitated systematic evaluation and individualized interventions for the patient following pericardiocentesis. The model supported the patient’s self-care, treatment compliance, and emotional well-being. The Lydia Hall nursing model was effective in planning and implementing holistic and structured nursing care for a patient who underwent pericardiocentesis. The case demonstrates that the model is applicable and useful during both the evaluation and care processes.
