Abstract

In this research, various vermicomposts were prepared by composting domestic and municipal sewage sludge (AÇ), board paper mill sludge and livestock manure (AG) with Eisenia fetida earthworms. Fort his purpose; 90 days incubation experiment were set up and variation of organic C, N, C/N, pH and EC of vermicompost samples were monitored during the incubation period. As a results of incubation treatment; earthworms could not live in all mixtures of paper mill sludge and contains more than 50% of sewage. In all periods of incubation, total N and pH increased whereas decreased organic C, C/N ratio and EC with the increasing amounts of AÇ. Based on earthworm biomass and population data and various vermicompost characteristics, incubation experiments revealed an optimum mixture ratio of 50% AÇ + 50% AG and an optimum vermicomposting duration of 90 days
