Abstract

This research was carried out at Çukurova General Directory Agricultural during 2005-2006 growing seasons. In the present study, the effects of organic soil conditioners on some soil parameters and yield and yield components of sunflower were studied in a field experiment with 4 plot replications and 5 applications in Randomized Block Design and sunflower varieties as a “Pioneer 64 LL 62” were used. According to the results, the highest organic matter was observed at the dose of 30kg/ha humic acid + chemical fertilizer. The addition of different organic materials had’nt significant effect on the amount of lime, P, K, pH and EC of soil but increased the amount of nitrogen. All organic material applications, plant height, thousand seed weight, yield per hectare has been affected significantly. The highest seed yield was obtained from Leonardit A + chemical fertilizer application and yield has also been increased by 21%. Long-term studies should be performed for determining the effect of organic material with different plants.
