Abstract

PURPOSE: To evaluate efficacy and safety of laser in situ keratomileusis (LASIK) for correction of residual myopia after primary myopic LASIK.MATERIAL-METHODS: Twenty eyes of 12 patients with residual myopia after LASIK were operated in this study. Mean spherical equivalent before treatment was –2.92±1.59 dioptry (D). Original flaps were lifted for reablation after a mean period of 10.75±11.96 months. RESULTS: Mean follow up time was 20.05±23.74 months. With LASIK surgery mean spheric equivalent decreased from –2.92±1.59 D to –0.59±0.72 D. At the last visit 65% of eyes were within ± 0.5 D, 80% were within ±1.0 D and all eyes were within ±2.0 D. Postoperatively mean uncorrected visual acuity was statistically significantly higher than preoperative value (p=0.000). No intraoperative serious complication occured. CONCLUSION: LASIK for treatment of residual myopia after myopic LASIK surgery is an effective and safe method. Postoperatively complications like DLK and epithelial ingrowth can be seen.

Özet

AMAÇ: Miyopik LASIK sonrası kalıntı miyopinin düzeltilmesinde LASIK cerrahisinin etkinliğini ve güvenilirliğini değerlendirmek. MATERYAL VE METODf çalışmada miyopik LASIK cerrahisi uygulanmış ve kalıntı miyopi nedeniyle yeniden LASIK yapılmış oniki hastanın 20 gözü incelendi. Primer cerrahi sonrası ortalama kalıntı miyopi –2.92±1.59 dioptriydi (D). İlk operasyondan ortalama 10.75±11.96 ay sonra orjinal korneal flep yeniden kaldırılarak ablasyon yapıldı.BULGULAR: LASIK cerrahisi ile ortalama sferik eşdeğer –2.92±1.59 D’den –0.59±0.72 D’e düştü. Ortalama 20.05±23.74 aylık takip süresi sonunda gözlerin %65’i ± 0.5 D, %80’i ±1.0 D ve tümü ±2.0 D aralığındaydı. Postoperatif düzeltilmemiş görme keskinliğinde (DGK) operasyon öncesi DGK’ya oranla istatistiksel olarak anlamlı oranda artış saptandı (p=0.000).TARTIŞMA: Miyopik LASIK cerrahisi sonrasında kalıntı miyopinin düzeltilmesinde LASIK cerrahisi güvenilir ve etkili bir yöntemdir, postoperatif dönemde DLK ve epitel yürümesine karşı dikkatli olunmalıdır.
