Abstract

Carbon monoxide intoxication is one of the leading reasons of death related to intoxications and injury all around the world. Carbon monoxide intoxication can occur in two phases; just an acute phase or a delayed phase improves after an acute phase. In this report we presented a 12 year old girl who went under delayed phase of carbon monoxide intoxication. The consciousness of the patient was closed for the second time in the 5th day following the acute phase and normobaric therapy was started but as the patient did not respond to the therapy, hyperbaric oxygen therapy was started in the 21st day. The patient was discharged from our hospital with a minimum neurologic deficit in the 55th day. As a result hyperbaric oxygen treatment can be efficacious in delayed phase of carbon monoxide intoxication.

Özet

Karbonmonoksit zehirlenmesi, yaralanma ve zehirlenmeye bağlı ölümlere neden olabilir. Karbonmonoksit zehirlenmesi iki fazda meydana gelebilir.
