Abstract

The productivity and sustainability of the agriculture sector is crucially important for meeting the basic nutrients of the country's population, providing the raw material input for industrial sectors and direct or indirect contribution to national income. Multi-stage and poorly coordinated agri-food supply chain in Turkey lowers the quality of the food product that reaches to the final customer and also prepares an inflationary basis for food prices. On the other hand, in the process from the field to the table, food products related to agriculture suffer serious losses. Product losses up to 40% affect exports and accompanying economic income items negatively. This situation reveals the strategic necessity of re-analyzing the agri-food supply chain for economic welfare. The Supply Chain Operations Reference Model (SCOR), which can be applied in different industrial areas and covers all market interaction activities from suppliers to consumers, allows the processes to be restructured with a standard methodology by evaluating the supply chain processes as a whole. The SCOR Model, developed by the Supply Chain Council in 1996, eliminates the complexity in the supply chain structure. It aims to increase total performance by providing process improvement within lean integration. In the study, SCOR Model can be used in solving the problems of the agri-food supply chain with the sample application made on the processes of the selected agricultural and agricultural sectors; It is aimed to create a reference resource with high feasibility.
