Abstract

Aim: To evaluate malign melanoma cases that diagnosed between 2003 and 2008 years at Haydarpasa Numune Education and Research Hospital. Methods: Patients; age, gender, anatomic distribution, histological feature, and invasion depth were investigated. Results: Thirty patients were female, 20 patients were male and mean age was 60.7. Anatomic distribution of coetaneous melanoma: trunk 12, extremity 21, and heat and neck 13 patients. The patients have melanomas of anal region and vagina were high stage. Twenty three of 32 patients(72%) have “Clark Level” IV and V invasion depth. Nineteen patients have nodular melanoma, and 15 patients have superficial spreading melanoma. Conclusion: Early recognition was fundamental for malign melanoma treatment but our patients were diagnosed lately.
