Abstract

Thirty patients who had Henoch-Schönlein purpura (HSP) at the Department of Pediatrics of Gülhane Military Medical Academy betvveen January 1998 and November 2002 were retrospectively analyzed with respect to the characteristcs of renal involvement. Renal involvement was detected in 10 out of the 30 cases in the first week. Out-of these 10 patients, 2 had microscopic hematuria, 3 had both microscopic hematuria and. hypertension, l had macroscopic hematuria, and l had nephrotic range proteinuria. One patient presented with acute renal failure on admission. The patients with renal involvement were follovved for a period of 13.7±27.4 (2-156) weeks. Twenty nine of the patients improved vvithout any complications. The mean age of the patients with renal involvement (8.7±2.5 years) was higher than those of without renal involvement (6.9±2.9 years) (p

Renal tutulum gösteren olgular ortalama 13,7±27,4 (2-156) hafta izlendi. HSP'li 30 olgunun 29'u komplikasyonsuz olarak düzeldi. Renal tutulum saptanan hastaların yaş ortalaması (8,7±2,5 yıl), renal tutulum olmayan olguların yaş ortalamasının (6,9±2,9 yıl) üzerinde saptandı (p
