Abstract

Mesenteric lymphadenitis, which usually presents with right lower quadrant abdominal pain, is the most frequent clinical diagnosis in patients who are misdiagnosed as having acute appendicitis and undergo surgery. We report a 7 years-old boy with salmonella mesenter lymphadenitis presented with signs of acute appendicitis and the complaints of colicky abdominal pain, fever, and vomiting. The inflamed mesenteric lymph nodes mimicked appendicitis like symptom. Grubel-Vidal's test was positive for O antibodies, with a titer of 1:800. We administreted seftriaxone and the patient was recovered without needed surgical operation.

Serolojik testlerde Salmonella O antijenine karşı oluşan antikor titresi 1:800 saptanan hasta, uygulanan seftriakson tedavisi ile cerrahi operasyona gerek kalmadan tedavi edildi.
