Abstract
Due to the realities of the century and the essence of terrorism, the fight against terrorism has gained a new dimension. At this point, it has been found out that diminishing terrorism is not only the armed forces’ responsibility; more comprehensive approaches and preventive cautions have been started to be taken. Taking the growing stages of an individual into consideration, teenagers end up improving their personalities especially in high school years. In these ages, an individual makes interpretations in his or her world by giving meanings to current concepts. If topics are taught in a logical order, with a good timing and in a cause and effect context to the individuals of this age who are open to especially inspiration and encouragement, there is no reason for them not to accept and internalize. Although Turkey has learnt partially to live with terrorism, no information is given about terrorism and what terror means in our schools. The information that is given depends on the teachers’ initiative. In this study, some advice about studying the current curriculum thoroughly and possible changes that can be made to create an appropriate terror perception in giving meaning to concepts is given to high school students who try to complete their personality development.

Yaşadığımız çağın realiteleri ve terörizmin doğası gereği terörle mücadele yeni bir boyut kazanmıştır. Bugün terörle mücadelenin sadece güvenlik güçlerinin görevi olmadığı anlaşılmış olup daha bütüncül yaklaşımlar ve önleyici tedbirler alınmaya başlanmıştır. Bu bağlamda, bireylere terör kavramının ve olgusunun doğru bir şekilde öğretilmesi de önem kazanmıştır. Bireyin gelişim evreleri göz önüne alındığında, özellikle lise yıllarına tekabül eden ergenlik çağında kimlik oluşumunun gerçekleştiği görülmektedir. Bu çağlarda birey, kavramlara anlamlar yükleyerek, kendi algı dünyasını oluşturmaktadır. Özellikle telkine ve yönlendirmeye açık olan bu dönemin bireylerine yerinde, zamanında ve en önemlisi de sebep- sonuç bağlamında anlatılanların, daha çabuk benimsenmesi ve kabul görmesi mümkün olmaktadır. Türkiye, artık terörle yaşamasını kısmi olarak öğrenmesine rağmen özellikle ortaokul ve lise seviyesindeki okullarda terörizmin ve terörün ne olduğuna dair herhangi bir bilgi verilmemektedir. Bu çalışmada kimlik oluşumunu gerçekleştirme süreci yaşayan lise dönemindeki bireylerin; doğru ve yerinde bir terör algısı oluşturabilmeleri için ders kitaplarında mevcut durum incelenerek yapılabilecek değişiklikler hususunda tavsiyelerde bulunulmuştur.
