Abstract

Aim: To evaluate the results of epiretinal membrane(ERM) and internal limiting membrane (ILM) peeling in idiopathic macular ERM. Material and Method: 21 eyes of 21 patients with idiopathic macular ERM were evaluated retrospectively. Pars plana vitrectomy, ERM and ILM peeling was performed in 21 eyes. Preoperative and postoperative visual acuities, fundus examinations and metamorfopsia were analyzed. Results: Snellen visual acuity was finger count-0.4 preoperatively and 0.1-0.7 postoperatively. Improvement in visual acuity after surgery was statistically significant(p<0.05). There were not recurrent ERM or other complications postoperatively. Visual acuity improved 2 or more Snellen lines in 17 eyes (80.9%). There was not metamorfopsia after surgery in all eyes. Average follow up time was 9 months. Conclusions: ERM removal with ILM peeling during pars plana vitrectomy for idiopathic ERM is associated with better final vision.

Özet

Amaç: İdyopatik makuler epiretinal membran cerrahisinde epiretinal membran (ERM) ile beraber iç limitan membran (İLM) soyulmasının etkinliğini değerlendirmek. Gereç ve Yöntem: İdyopatik maküler ERM’ si olan 21 hastanın 21 gözü retrospektif olarak incelendi. Tüm hastalara 23 G pars plana vitrektomi uygulandı. ERM ve İLM soyuldu. Hastaların ameliyat öncesi ve sonrası görme keskinlikleri, fundus muayeneleri ve metamorfopsi şikayetleri değerlendirildi. Bulgular: Görme keskinliği cerrahi öncesi parmak sayma seviyesi ve Snellen eşeline göre 0,4 aralığındaydı, cerrahi sonrası 0,1-0,7 aralığında saptandı. Görme keskinliğindeki artış istatistiksel olarak anlamlı bulundu (p<0,05). Hastaların 17’sinde (%80,9) görme keskinliğinde 2 sıra ve üzerinde artış sağlandı. Hastaların tamamında ameliyat sonrası metamorfopsi kayboldu. Ameliyat sonrası ERM’ de nüks ve komplikasyona rastlanmadı. Takip süresi ortalama 9 aydı. Sonuç: İdyopatik epiretinal membran tedavisinde pars plana vitrektomi, ERM ve İLM soyulması görme keskinliğinde artış sağlar.
