Abstract

Cowden's syndrome (CS) is characterized by multiple hamartomas ofectodermal, mesodermal and endodermal origin, a high incidence of malignant tumors of the breast and/or thyroid gland and an autozomal dominant pattern of inheritance. The oral/periodontal findings at this syndrome include mucocutaneous hamartomas, scrotal tongue, and papillamatos lesions. The case presented here was a 18 years old female and admitted to our department with compliant of spontaneous gingival bleeding. The lesions was observed on vestibule and approximate regions of maxillary anterior teeth. The bleeding regions were not in polip . structure as usually defined but characterized with eudema and ulceration. Furthermore, as concerned in literature, poliposis lesions in the gastrointestinal system were monitored with endoscopy and hypertrophy of thyroid was found. As the related literature, being presented case accompained with hyperkeratotic lesions. Diagnosis was made with the oral signs and patient had directed to gastroenterology and dermatology departments. The oral/periodontal findings of this syndrome are frequently seemed so at this point oral manifestation is very important about diagnosis of Cowden's Syndrome
