Abstract

Since facial and tooth development continues during childhood, the treatment of mandibular fractures is different to that in adults, and has long been the subject of debate. Treatment alternatives may be listed as follows. Intra-osseous fixation with intermaxillary fixation (IMF), immobilization with IMF, immobilization therapy emphasizing early movement and normal eating habits. The principle of "primum nil nocere," in other words, conservative non-invasive treatment using the splint method should be preferred over surgical fracture treatment. We aimed to discuss our patient's treatment method and result that had bilateral mandibular condyle fractures.

Özet

Çocuklarda kondu fraktürlerinin tedavisi özellik gösterir ve bu tür fraktürlerin uygun tedavisi uzun zamandan beri tartışma konusu olmuştur. Tedavi alternatifleri olarak; intermaksil-ler fiksasyon (IMF) ile birlikte intra-osseoz fiksasyon, IMF ile birlikte immobilizasyon, erken hareket ve normal yemek yeme alışkanlığını vurgulayan immobilizasyonsuz tedavi seçenekleri sıralanabilir, "primum nü nocere " prensibi ile splintleme yoluyla konservatif non-invaziv tedaviyi, fraktürün cerrahi tedavisine tercih ettiğimiz bilateral kondu fraktürü olan olgumuzun tedavi şeklini ve sonuçlarını tartışmayı amaçladık.
