Abstract

Aim: The aim of this study was to evaluate the shear bond strength between enamel which had been contact with different provisional restorative materials and different dentin bonding agents Material and Methods: Sixty human molar teeth were used for the shear bond testing. Six groups (n=10) of specimens were established according to the different bonding groups. In control groups dentin bonding agents (Single Bond and SE Bond) were directly applied to the prepared enamel surfaces. For the provisional restorative groups; a layer of provisional restorative material (Coltosol F or Cavit G) were placed. After the removal of the provisional dentin bonding agents and resin based restorative (Filtek Z250) were applied. After thermocycling shear bond strength values were determined using a universal Jesting machine with a crosshead speed of 0.5 mmlmin. Mean shear bond strength values of each specimen group were analyzed using a 2-way analysis variance, followed by a post hoc Duncan test (a=.05). Results: When enamel surfaces were contaminated with provisional restorative prior to application of bonding agents, this reduced the mean shear bond strength values compared to control groups. However this was only statistically significant for the specimens of SE Bond group treated with Coltosol F (P<0.05). Conclusion: Fluor containing provisional restorative material tested may reduce the shear bond strength values between the enamel and resin based restorative material when self-etch adhesive tested was used.

(P<0.05). Sonuç: Flor ihtiva eden geçici dolgu materyalleri, incelenen self-etch bağlayıcı kullanıldığı zaman mineye olan bağlantı direncinde azalmaya neden olabilirler.
