Abstract

Age-related macular degeneration (AMD) is a chronic and degenerative disease that causes vision loss. Although antivascular endothelial growth factor (Anti-VEGF) drugs are the mainstay of treatment in cases of age-related AMD, there is no similar response to treatment in each patient. In the case of non-response, the treatment approach for the cause must be regulated. Although there is no consensus on the concept of response to treatment, the use of alternative anti-VEGF in cases where drug efficacy is weak is quite common

Özet

Yaşa bağlı makula dejenerasyonu (YBMD) görme kaybına yol açan kronik ve dejeneratif bir hastalıktır. Anti-vasküler endotelyal büyüme faktörü (Anti-VEGF) ilaçlar yaş tip YBMD'li olgularda tedavinin temel taşını oluştursa da her hastada tedaviye benzer cevap alınamamaktadır. Cevapsız olgularda nedene yönelik tedavi yaklaşımının düzenlenmesi gerekmektedir. Tedaviye cevap kavramı konusunda fikir birliği bulunmasa da ilaç etkinliğinin zayıf olduğu olgularda alternatif anti-VEGF kullanımı oldukça yaygındır
