Abstract

Awareness of important anatomical landmarks during vitreoretinal surgery contributes to favorable outcomes in postoperative period. While external anatomical landmarks include pars plana, ora serrata and vortex veins, long posterior ciliary nerves, vortex vein ampulla, and optic disc constitute the internal anatomical landmarks for vitreoretinal surgery. The forces that prevent development of retinal detachment by keeping retina in place are the retina pigment epithelium pump, the inter photoreceptor matrix, presence of vitreous gel and intraocular pressure. The main aim of surgeon should be removing vitreous as much as possible and releasing vitreoretinal tractions which cause retinal detachment and vitreoretinal interface problems

Özet

Vitreoretinal cerrrahi sürecinde önemli anatomik belirteçlerin fark edilmesi cerrahi sonrası dönemde olumlu sonuçların elde edilmesine katkıda bulunur. Eksternal önemli anatomik yapılar pars plana, ora serrata ve vorteks venlerini içerirken, uzun posterior silyer sinirler, vorteks ven ampullası ve optik disk ise dikkate edilmesi gereken internal anatomik yapıları oluşturmaktadır. Normal durumlarda retina tabakasını yerinde tutarak retina dekolmanı gelişimini önleyen yapılar; retina pigment epiteli pompa fonksiyonu, interfotoreseptör matriks, vitreus jeli ve göz içi basıncıdır. Vitreoretinal cerrahi sırasında cerrahın ana amacı vitreus dokusunun olabildiğince temizlenmesi, retina dekolmanı ve vitreoretinal ara yüzey problemlerine neden olan vitreoretinal traksiyonların çözülmesini sağlamak olmalıdır.
