Abstract

In this study, 43 academic articles were evaluated using the document analysis method in order to examine the literature on women accounting and auditing professionals in Türkiye. The findings indicate that the first study in this field was conducted in 1994 and that academic interest has increased significantly, particularly after 2020. It was determined that the majority of the studies examined were multi-authored, with a heavy reliance on quantitative methods and survey-based analyses; in recent years, bibliometric analyses have come to the fore. The findings reveal that while women in the accounting profession are becoming increasingly visible, gender-based discrimination, glass ceiling barriers, and work-life balance issues persist. In conclusion, the literature indicates that despite the strengthening of women’s professional representation, qualitative inequalities persist and create multidimensional effects at both the individual and organizational levels.
