Abstract

This study critically examines the multi-authored edited volume titled ''Green Economy: Degrowth is Beautiful (Yeşil Ekonomi: Küçülmek Güzeldir)''. The book questions the relationship between economic growth and environmental sustainability and focuses on the "degrowth" approach. This study evaluates the articles' perspectives on degrowth by analyzing the core arguments and issues addressed in the six essays included in the volume. By bringing together diverse perspectives, the book makes a significant contribution to the debate on the green economy and degrowth. On the other hand, the fact that some arguments remain at a theoretical level, the lack of sufficient discussion regarding the feasibility of policy proposals, and the limited empirical evidence can be considered weaknesses of the work. Overall, however, the book makes a substantial contribution to the literature on the green economy and degrowth by questioning the environmental limits of economic growth and formulating policies for a sustainable economic system.
