Abstract

This study aims to examine the mediating role of impulsivity in the relationship between aggression and cyber dating abuse among university students. The research was designed using a correlational survey model, and the sample consisted of 150 university students (84 females, 66 males) aged between 18 and 35. Data were collected face-to-face using the Demographic Information Form, Cyber Dating Abuse Questionnaire, Buss-Perry Aggression Questionnaire, and Barratt Impulsiveness Scale. Correlation analyses revealed positive and significant relationships between aggression, impulsivity, and cyber dating abuse. The mediation analysis performed using the SPSS PROCESS Macro demonstrated that impulsivity plays a partial mediating role in the relationship between aggression and cyber dating abuse perpetration. Furthermore, independent samples t-test results indicated that males' aggression levels were significantly higher than females'. These findings highlight the importance of developing impulse control skills in prevention and intervention programs for cyber dating abuse.
