Abstract

This study examines the relationship between cultural transformation processes in Türkiye and Brazil and the "Prosperity" performance within the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) from a macro-sociological perspective. Using data from the 6th (2010-2014) and 7th (2017-2022) waves of the World Values Survey (WVS), the research analyses the vertical shift exhibited by both countries on the Inglehart-Welzel World Culture Map, moving from the traditional block towards the secular-rational axis. The main objective of the study is to reveal the causal link between these cultural secularisation trends and the SDG 7 (Clean Energy), SDG 8 (Decent Work), SDG 9 (Industry and Innovation), SDG 10 (Reducing Inequalities), and SDG 11 (Sustainable Cities) within the 5P framework. The analysis, conducted using secondary data analysis and comparative methods, found that infrastructural modernisation, digitalisation, and increased urban welfare have established technical trust in society, thereby weakening traditional forms of authority. The findings show that Türkiye and Brazil are countries exhibiting the most pronounced increase in secularisation in their respective regions and that sustainable prosperity is symbiotically linked to the rationalisation process in the social mindset.

(2017-2022) dalgalarından elde edilen verileri kullanarak, her iki ülkenin Inglehart-Welzel Dünya Kültür Haritası'nda geleneksel bloktan seküler-rasyonel eksene doğru sergilediği dikey kaymayı analiz etmektedir.
