Abstract

Objective: The aim of the research is to determine the opinions and information of the prehospital emergency healthcare professionals about patient privacy. Materials and Methods: For this purpose, a descriptive study was conducted for health professionals working actively in Adana 112 Provincial Ambulance Service. In the data collection form, there are 7 expressions of demographic information and 17 expressions for the field. Participants were asked to give a score between 0 and 10 according to their degree of adoption. Data of 500 participants were evaluated in total. The collected data were evaluated in computer environment using “Statistical Package for Social Sciences (SPSS) for Windows 20.0” statistical package program using appropriate analysis methods. Results: In our study, when the perception of privacy of the participants is examined according to their gender, it is seen that women have more sensitivity than men, their sensitivity to privacy increases as the level of education increases, and when the values they give to the statements according to their length of service; it was concluded that as the working years increased, their perceptions of privacy changed positively, and when the values they gave to the expressions according to age were examined, the perception of privacy increased as the age increased, and they were more sensitive about the privacy of body and information. Conclusion: It was concluded that pre-hospital health professionals believed that privacy is the fundamental right of patients, and showed due care and respect for personal privacy in general, especially body privacy. Generally; It has been observed that pre-hospital emergency health professionals embrace the right to privacy, but this right can be put in the background when life-threatening situations are in question.

Toplanan veriler bilgisayar ortamında “Statistical Package for Social Sciences (SPSS) for Windows 20.0” istatistik paket programında uygun analiz yöntemleri kullanılarak değerlendirilmiştir.
