Abstract

SUMMARY Gynecological cancers are a major cause of morbidity and mortality among women worldwide, and a significant proportion of these cancers, particularly cervical cancer, are associated with preventable risk factors. This study emphasizes the importance of adopting healthy lifestyles to prevent gynecological cancers. It is reported that directing individuals towards healthy lifestyles, preventing obesity, quitting smoking and alcohol consumption, engaging in regular exercise, adopting healthy eating habits, and having regular gynecological check-ups can reduce the risk of gynecological cancers and related mortality. Additionally, the importance of health professionals and public health officials organizing community education programs to promote healthy living habits is highlighted. In this process, it is emphasized that health professionals should focus on raising awareness and conducting educational activities aimed at women. The use of theoretical models such as the Planned Behavior Theory, Cognitive Behavioral Theories, Social Cognitive Theory, and the Transtheoretical Model is recommended for developing health-related lifestyle behaviors. These theories can serve as guides to support individuals in adopting healthy behaviors. It is stated that, while making behavioral changes, not only physical factors such as age, gender, and race but also social, economic, and cultural factors should be taken into account. These factors can affect individuals' health behaviors and their inclination towards lifestyle changes. Therefore, developing personalized strategies will lead to more effective results. In conclusion, adopting healthy lifestyles plays a significant role in the prevention of gynecological cancers, and health professionals must take an active role in this process.
