Abstract

It is thought that reviewing literary works translated from a foreign language into Turkish has a meaningful function in terms of introducing a different culture to the local culture, revealing the details of the relevant novel that cannot be fully understood or assimilated by the reader, and contributing to the further enrichment, revival of the Turkish literary language. In this context, it is envisaged that examining the novel Almond, which is published in the young-adult category of Korean literature and attracts attention with its subject of alexithymia syndrome, which means emotional deafness-blindness, may contribute to other researches in this field. The analysis of this novel is considered necessary in terms of inspiring the translation literature in Türkiye, as it is one of the first examples of translated novels that deal with the "alexithymia" syndrome, which means emotional deafness. Badem, which is mentioned in this study and is one of the first examples translated into Turkish in the young-adult category; In terms of its subject, alexithymia, which is seen as one of the rare topics that is not discussed much in literature, has been examined in terms of fiction, characters in the novel, plot, language, narration, etc. This review is a descriptive review conducted by document analysis method. As a result of the descriptive review conducted by document analysis method; In the novel titled Almond, the subject of "alexithymia", which is defined as emotional deafness, emotional blindness, and the inability to read or express emotions seen in the modern times we live in, is told in a simple and realistic language, based on a logical fiction, from the mouth of the young man mentioned in the novel.
