Abstract

This study examines the impact of senior managers' and strategic decision makers’ emotional intelligence levels on the strategic decisions they make, utilizing a meta-analysis method. Through comprehensive searches in relevant databases using specific keywords, a total of 8 studies meeting the inclusion criteria were identified. The data were analyzed using the Major module within the Jamovi software. The findings are consistent with Upper Echelons Theory and existing literature, indicating a strong relationship between the emotional intelligence levels of senior managers and their strategic decision-making processes. This research is significant as it synthesizes fragmented findings in the literature regarding the link between emotional intelligence and strategic decisions, while also providing practical guidance for industry practitioners. The results highlight that emotional intelligence—as a developable skill—is critical for the effectiveness of the strategic decisions made by organizations.
