Abstract
This study analyzes Kogonada's film After Yang (2021) within the framework of Jürgen Habermas's Theory of Communicative Action. In the research, qualitative research methods were used, specifically the content analysis technique, to examine themes such as technological autonomy, cultural transmission and identity construction, everyday life, and family communication. The main objective of the study is to analyze how Yang, who initially joins the family as a rational and instrumental product of the system, transforms into a life-world actor through communication processes and shared rituals. The analysis revealed that the memories stored in Yang's digital memory and the bonds established with family members created a spiritual resistance space against the mechanical and material impositions of the system. The findings suggest that in a post-humanist future, identity and belonging can be reconstructed beyond biological boundaries, on the basis of communicative consensus and the construction of shared meaning.
Özet
Bu çalışma, Kogonada’nın After Yang (2021) filmini Jürgen Habermas’ın İletişimsel Eylem Kuramı ekseninde analiz etmektedir.
