Abstract

Industrial Surveying, as one of the work fields of geomatics engineering, gains its importance per diem, with the advent of industrial development in our country. These measurements usually contain details that must be measured or applied in millimetres and below accuracy. It is necessary to apply different measuring methods and different measuring instruments according to the situation of work areas. In this study, surveying engineering studies have been carried out in the manufacturing and mechanical assembly processes of the iron and steel rolling mill plant construction, and the industrial measurements made here were also examined in detail. It has been given some information about the measurement methods, tools and geodetic infrastructure that can be applied in the industrial measurement. The measurements made at plant constructions should be coordinated with different engineering disciplines. In geodetic studies, micro geodetic network structure should be used and coordinate system of the network axes should be selected as parallel to machine axes. Calibrations of the instruments used must be made and strictly controlled to ensure that the desired accuracy is achieved.
