Abstract

This study aims to evaluate the dominant research themes and trends in Quality 4.0 literature using bibliometric analysis. To this end, research and review articles published in English between 2015 and 2025 were retrieved from the Web of Science (WoS) database to identify the latest trends and developments in the field. A total of 260 studies in which the terms “Quality 4.0,” “Digital Quality Management,” and “Quality Management in Industry 4.0” appeared in the title, abstract, and keyword fields were analyzed using the VOSviewer program. To ensure transparency and reproducibility, the screening and selection process was visualized using the PRISMA 2020 flow diagram. According to the findings obtained from the analysis, the studies were particularly concentrated in 2022 and 2024, and based on WoS categories, were mainly in the fields of “Management” and “Industrial Engineering”. It has been determined that approximately 16.5% of publications in the field of Quality 4.0 are published in the “TQM Journal”, which has the highest number of publications in this field. The analysis indicates that researchers such as Sony, Chiarini, and Kumar hold influential positions in this field. In addition, it was found that a significant portion of the studies (142) are conceptual studies. The results of the keyword co-occurrence analysis indicate that, in the Quality 4.0 literature, Industry 4.0 technologies, data-driven approaches, and quality management practices are among the prominent research themes. In this context, it was determined that the most frequently used keywords are “Quality 4.0” and “Industry 4.0”. Co-citation and co-authorship analyses further indicate limited institutional collaboration, a tendency for studies to cluster within specific groups, and the presence of a moderate level of international collaboration among countries.
