Abstract

Bingöl University Journal of Health, Volume 6, Issue 2 (2025), published the article by Beyaz Coşkun and Demirel entitled “Evaluation of the Effects of Digital Screen Addiction on Sleep Disorder, Physical Activity Self-Efficacy, Healthy Eating Self-Efficacy, and Chronotype in Children Aged 9–18,” which we read with great interest. We found it valuable that the study addressed digital addiction together with interrelated lifestyle components such as sleep, physical activity, nutrition, and chronotype. In this letter, we aim to discuss the findings of the study from the perspectives of public health and school health nursing, with particular emphasis on the transition from the concept of “digital addiction” to “digital well-being,” the role of health-promoting schools, and the potential contribution of multidisciplinary interventions. We also highlight that, in future studies, incorporating demographic variables such as age and sex as covariates in multivariable analyses may strengthen the interpretation of the findings. We congratulate the authors on their valuable contribution to this increasingly important area of child and adolescent health and believe that future school-based and multidisciplinary studies may further strengthen the evidence in this field.
