Abstract

This study examines the development, current structure, and fundamental challenges facing the logistics sector in Turkey, within the context of its relationship to economic growth. In this context, national and international studies focusing on the impact of logistics performance on trade and competitiveness have been reviewed, and the topic has been evaluated within a general framework. Assessments in the literature reveal that logistics activities play a decisive role in terms of foreign trade and competitiveness. In Turkey, the sector faces various problem areas such as infrastructure deficiencies, cost pressures, bureaucratic processes, and limitations in digital transformation. In this context, developing logistics infrastructure, strengthening integration between transportation modes, widespread adoption of digital applications, and increasing the number of qualified workers are key areas for the sector to function more effectively. This study aims to contribute to the existing literature at a conceptual level by examining the logistics sector in Turkey from an economic growth perspective.
