The book was written by Muhammad Akram al-Nadwī, a researcher at the University of Oxford, and was published in 2024. In order to demonstrate his competence in the field of fatwa, the author opens the work by referring to the books he has studied and the fatwa councils of which he has been a member. Fetva literatürüne yönelik yazım faaliyetleri günümüzde de aktif bir şekilde sürmektedir. Bu literatürün son örneklerinden biri el-Muʿtemed fî Usûli’l-Fetvâ adlı eserdir. Elinizdeki çalışma, söz konusu eseri içerik ve yöntem bakımından değerlendirmeyi ve konuya ilişkin teknik tespit ve notları ortaya koymayı amaçlamaktadır. Eser, fetva usulü literatürüne modern bir katkı sunmasının yanı sıra; muhtevası, bölümler arası yapısal bütünlüğü, yararlanılan kaynaklar ve tartışmaya açtığı meseleler bakımından incelemeyi gerekli kılmaktadır. Bu doğrultuda, çalışmanın literatürdeki yerini tam olarak tayin edebilmek adına, güçlü ve zayıf yönlerinin bütüncül bir yaklaşımla ele alınması büyük önem arz etmektedir. Kitap, Oxford Üniversitesi araştırmacılarından Muhammed Ekrem en-Nedvî tarafından kaleme alınmış ve 2024 yılında basılmıştır.
