Abstract

This study examines symbolic consumption behaviors and life satisfaction with respect to demographic characteristics. Data were collected through an online survey administered to 750 participants aged 18 and above residing in Turkey, using a convenience sampling method. Analyses were conducted in SPSS, employing independent samples t-tests and ANOVA to assess group differences. The findings revealed significant demographic differences in both symbolic consumption and life satisfaction. No significant variation was found in the lifestyle sub-dimension of symbolic consumption, whereas in the self-concept sub-dimension, symbolic consumption decreased with higher age and income levels. In terms of life satisfaction, individuals with higher age, education, and income levels reported more positive evaluations of their lives. Moreover, gender differences were significant across all variables included in the study.
