Abstract

This study aims to examine the views university students after the earthquake of process according to Maslow's hierarchy of needs theory. According to the findings, most university students who were affected by the earthquake stated that they had internet access restrictions, did not feel psychologically safe, had family ties on the one hand, but had family conflicts on the other, were worried about their professional reputation, had fears about the disaster, and were hopeless about their future plans. A stronger internet infrastructure, psychological healing seminars, social support programs, psychological counseling and guidance, loss and mourning process applications, maintaining healthy lifestyle behaviors, and providing social support programs have come to the forefront as basic needs. In addition, it is envisaged that educators should create learning programs suitable for the online environment with developing technology, prepare activities similar to their application areas, and use appropriate communication techniques.
