Abstract

This research investigates university students' perspectives on justice, liberty, cultural influences, gender expectations, secularism, and general life contentment to comprehend how youth view the societal environment in Turkey. Data gathered from 414 students at Tokat Gaziosmanpaşa University reveal that young people have a complex perceptual framework influenced by their social, cultural, and political backgrounds. The results indicate that students' assessments of Turkey's essential social and political aspects typically hover around a moderate level. Factors like gender, perspective, and experiences of bias were identified as essential in influencing perceptual variations. Participants who indicated experiencing prejudice demonstrated markedly diminished views of justice, liberty, and general contentment. Significant disparities were noted among worldviews regarding interpretations of secularism, societal influences, and gender roles. Research indicated that female students displayed greater sensitivity to gender equality, but male students showed a more pronounced inclination towards secularism. The research illustrates that the factors influencing young individuals' views on Turkey's social environment are multifaceted, with personal experiences, identities, and perspectives playing a significant role in molding these views. In this regard, the study makes a substantial contribution to dialogues around youth policies, political communication tactics, and social equity.
