Abstract

A Bibliometric Analysis of Scientific Publications on School-Based Bullying Prevention Programs Abstract This study aims to examine the bibliometric characteristics of the international literature on school-based bullying prevention programs and to reveal the intellectual structure of the field. A total of 442 articles published between 2001 and 2026 were retrieved from the Web of Science Core Collection and analyzed using the bibliometrix package in R and its web interface Biblioshiny. The analyses examined publication trends, the most productive authors, journals, and countries, Lotka's and Bradford's laws, keyword co-occurrence network, thematic map, and trending topics. Findings revealed that the articles were published in 241 different journals by 1,604 authors, with an annual growth rate of 11.44%. The field entered a rapid growth phase particularly after 2018. Christina Salmivalli (h-index = 13) was identified as the most influential author, Frontiers in Psychology (n = 19) as the most productive journal, and the United States (n = 90) as the most productive country. Thematic map analysis revealed that bullying victimization and prevention constitute the motor theme of the field, while teacher training and self-efficacy represent an opportunity area for future research. Turkey contributes limitedly to the field with only 5 articles. Keywords Bibliometric analysis Bullying prevention School-based intervention Science mapping Bibliometrix
