Abstract
In this study, the ranking and scores of the world's leading financial centers on a global and regional scale were examined within the framework of the Global Financial Center Index. The conditions of being an international financial center are compared with other international financial centers on a global and regional scale, and its current potential has been tried to be revealed. As a result, in order to compete with the world's leading financial centers and to be in the position of an international financial center, it is necessary to ensure economic, social and cultural stability, to create an environment of trust on a global scale and to have a tendency to show continuous improvement.

Bu çalışmada Küresel Finans Merkezi İndeks’i (Global Financial Center Index) çerçevesinde dünyanın önde gelen finans merkezlerinin küresel ve bölgesel ölçekte sıralaması ile skorları incelenmiştir. Uluslararası Finans Merkezi olabilmenin koşulları, İstanbul’un küresel ve bölgesel ölçekte yer alan diğer Uluslararası Finans Merkezleriyle karşılaştırılarak mevcut potansiyeli ortaya konulmaya çalışılmıştır. Sonuç olarak dünyanın önde gelen finans merkezleri ile rekabet edebilmek ve Uluslararası Finans Merkezi konumunda olmak için ekonomik, sosyal ve kültürel anlamda istikrarın sağlanması, küresel ölçekte güven ortamının oluşturulması ve sürekli gelişim gösterme eğilimine sahip olmak gerekmektedir.
