In this study, Nevit Kodallı’s Telli Turna orchestral suite is examined from the perspective of orchestral conducting techniques, and various observations and recommendations are presented regarding the rehearsal process and concert performance of the work. The study aims to identify and clarify appropriate orchestral conducting approaches that can be applied in the performance of the piece. The research was conducted within the framework of qualitative research and is based on a descriptive research model. Based on the literature review and musical analysis conducted for the study, it has been determined that the Telli Turna orchestral suite incorporates motifs derived from Turkish folk music, and that the concepts of Turkish musical idioms and polyphony are employed within a simple, clear, and accessible compositional language accompanied by a refined orchestration. The work, which may be considered an important milestone in the history of polyphonic Turkish music, is also regarded as suitable for performance by a wide range of ensembles, from professional symphony orchestras to orchestras within music education institutions. Furthermore, the suite is considered to possess an instructive musical structure for young musicians who are learning orchestral repertoire. Consequently, due to its inclusion of both simple and irregular rhythmic structures, the suite can be regarded as a valuable resource for determining and developing conducting beat patterns and techniques.

Bu çalışmada Nevit Kodallı’nın “Telli Turna” orkestra süiti orkestra şefliği teknikleri bakımından incelenerek eserin prova sürecine ve konser icrasına yönelik görüş ve öneriler getirilmiştir. Çalışma, eserin icrasında uygulanabilecek uygun orkestra şefliği yaklaşımlarını ortaya koymayı amaçlamaktadır. Çalışma, nitel araştırma kapsamında betimsel model temel alınarak yürütülmüştür. Çalışma için yapılan literatür taraması ve müzikal analiz ışığında “Telli Turna” orkestra süitinde halk müziği motiflerinden yararlanıldığı, Türk müziği ve çokseslilik kavramlarının basit, sade, anlaşılır bir kompozisyon anlayışında ancak parlak bir orkestrasyonla kullanıldığı anlaşılmaktadır. Çoksesli Türk müziği tarihi açısından önemli bir yapı taşı olarak düşünülebilecek bu eserin aynı zamanda senfonik orkestralardan müzik eğitimi kurumlarındaki orkestralara kadar geniş bir yelpazede çalınabilecek düzeyde olduğu, orkestra müziğini öğrenen genç müzisyenler için de oldukça öğretici bir kurguya sahip olduğu değerlendirilmektedir. Sonuç olarak süitin basit ve aksak ritimler içermesi dolayısıyla vuruş tekniklerinin belirlenmesini sağlayacak yararlı bir kaynak olabileceği değerlendirilmektedir.
